THE HUT SMOOTHIE & juice BAR
With the warmth of a quaint kitchen cupboard and the sleek finishes of an upscale café, The Hut brings Muskoka charm to a city audience who is thirsty for quality, freshness, and healthy living.

The Hut is the brainchild of sisters Sydney and Ashley Bly, who opened a juice bar during the pandemic out of a tiny boat launch in the Muskoka community where they spend every summer. This passion project quickly evolved into a thriving business.
The interior design is an ode to idyllic family memories and the joy of the Canadian wilderness. Pitched rafter frames reflect a rusticity, but with coloured accent rods for a bit of fun, guiding customers through the space to the cash desk. The desk itself is inspired by the iconic landscape of the Canadian Shield.. A large central porthole window, drawing on the visual language of cabins and boating, offers transparency between the kitchen and retail spaces. The result is at once charming and unfussy, a testament to the greatest joy of country living: welcoming guests and relaxing with friends.
The Bly sisters are granddaughters of Canadian furniture icon Saul Feldberg of Teknion and Global Furniture Group. The project presented the unique opportunity to infuse the design with furniture and fixtures from the family’s legacy brands, including modular displays made from GFG’s Collaborative Shelving system.
This dialogue between the family’s past and present businesses captures the intrinsic value of a design approach that honours history and invests in a modern view of nostalgia.
