FH FARMHOUSE

Inspired by techniques of harvest and the materials and comforts of a rural home, FH Farmhouse represents a rich history of life on a Canadian farm with a contemporary and urban twist.

Our task was to convert an existing space inside a heritage property from a wedding chapel into a calming and contemporary salad bodega. Located near Forest Hill North, the demographic of the neighbourhood was a key consideration in the development of the design.

We envisioned a modern take on a farmhouse, taking inspiration from materials seen in a farmer’s home and the concept of harvest. At the entry, the display millwork utilizes smooth oak veneer curved headers, paired with rough sawn reclaimed oak posts; a subtle juxtaposition between traditional and modern woodcraft techniques.

Washed in natural daylight, filled with strategically placed greenery and surrounded in wood tones and textures, the space maximizes warmth and reflects a comforting simplicity. The neutral palette allows the product itself to take focus.
